Supernatural Events at Jesus Death
"Supernatural Events at Jesus' Death" Luke 23:44-49
"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."
44 It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 45 while the sun's light failed.
1 John 1:5
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness to be felt.”So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was pitch darkness in all the land of Egypt three days
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last
And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.
And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.
51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.

And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
7. Supernatural Decision
47 Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!”
Matthew 27: 54
When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was
the Son of God!”
48 And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts. 49 And all his acquaintances and the women who had followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching these things.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
